Springbrook Bible Camp

Established in 1946 by Lutheran churches in North Dakota and Montana, Springbrook Bible Camp, also known as Upper Missouri Lutheran Bible Camp, was created to offer local children the opportunity to embark on new adventures and discover the joys of Bible camp.

Background

The team at Upper Missouri Ministries contacted us when they wanted to update the camp logo and website. The imagery of the logo did not connect to the camp audience and the website needed to be trimmed down and updated to be responsive.

Branding

As we began the new logo design process, we encountered a conflict with the name of the camp. Upper Missouri Ministries began to refer to the camp as Camp UMM a few years ago to differentiate from the other services they offer, but the name still did not connect the audience to the camp. We consulted on the camp name and the board approved a change to Springbrook Bible Camp after the Springbrook/Epping Dam the camp sits on the shores of.

With a new name we set out to reflect the values, traditions, and spirit of the camp. We wanted the logo and branding to reflect the outdoors while conveying a message of faith, fun and friendships. The cross design is reminiscent of the previous logo, the open Bible curves are a tribute to The Hill at the camp, and the children surround the cross as Christ is at the center of the camp’s mission.

Website

With a new name and new logo it was definitely time for a website refresh! The Springbrook team scaled down the content on the website to remove a lot that wasn’t relevant anymore. We arranged the navigation to make it user-friendly for parents, donors, and potential staff to find the information they were looking for easily. The new brand colors paired with the design elements gives the website a fun and youthful feel. This website has the full package with a homepage feature rotation, upcoming events, newsletter sign-up and all mobile friendly.

Rebrand Launch

We created some social media brand launch images for Springbrook Bible Camp and incorporated some design elements from the new website including the custom pattern we designed for them. We then helped the team create some buzz around the upcoming announcement with a Facebook live video and plan to introduce the why behind the new logo and website to the community.
